FY2026 Financial Highlights

BKI Investment Company Limited (ASX: BKI) reported its full-year results for the year ending June 30, 2026. Total ordinary revenue from the investment portfolio increased 4% to $67.8 million. The net operating result after tax rose 3% to $62.8 million, while net profit after tax grew 4% to $64.4 million. Basic earnings per share, excluding special investment revenue, increased 3% to 7.78 cents.

The portfolio value climbed 6% to $1.67 billion, and pre-tax net tangible assets per share rose to $2.07. The company attributed the gains to stronger dividends from major holdings, including BHP Group, Harvey Norman, Telstra, Macquarie, Wesfarmers, and Commonwealth Bank.

Dividend Increase and Shift to Quarterly Payments

BKI lifted its total ordinary dividend for FY2026 to 7.95 cents per share, a slight increase from the prior year. Starting from FY2027, the company will transition from half-yearly to quarterly dividend payments. This change is designed to provide shareholders with a more regular income stream and reinforce BKI's positioning as a reliable source of fully franked yields.

Special Revenue and Portfolio Performance

BKI also benefited from special investment revenue of $1.7 million and cash capital returns from TPG Telecom and Wesfarmers, which were not treated as dividend income. Management highlighted the rebound in resources, particularly copper-exposed BHP, and robust contributions from defensive infrastructure and healthcare names as key factors smoothing earnings in a volatile market. The company's focus remains on quality, income growth, and resilience for shareholders.

What it means for income investors

The move to quarterly dividends offers more frequent income, which may appeal to retirees and income-focused investors. BKI's diversified portfolio of high-quality, dividend-paying equities continues to deliver steady earnings growth, supported by strong contributions from core holdings across resources, financials, and defensive sectors.
